Copywriters and designers, does the freelance job market have you running in pointless circles?
It’s not you. There’s a much bigger problem happening here.
Somewhere along the lines, despite the anti-spam laws, the internet made it okay for job sites to farm our data, post fake bot profiles, and let people post jobs that aren’t real (they’re called ghost jobs).
All of this is preventing us from actually getting to the real jobs. It’s sucking up all of our time and energy, and all of the space in our email and taken over our phones.
Faulty skill search is also a serious mismatch stopping you from getting hired. Unless you have the exact match to their skills requirement checklist, they’re not going to see you.
Do you see what a massive issue this is? The flawed tech is blocking human connections.
These machines are literally keeping us from getting matched up to paying jobs.
Everybody keeps pretending it’s not happening… but it is, and you know it.
So I’m finding my own freelance jobs workaround, and I invite you to join me.
I’m starting my own list. People who regularly hire freelancers to work for their companies can sign up. Freelancers can sign up, and I’m only accepting legitimate qualified humans.
There will be no bot profiles. There will be no fake profiles. No ghost jobs. No spam. I will never sell your email address. Every candidate will be cherry picked.
This will be about who you know in the business, it will be referrals only and there will be zero fake profiles. Zero.
The freelance jobs are out there, but the tech is blocking us from reaching them.
I know there’s work out there, and I know that technology is blocking our connection.
It’s time to stop feeding the machine.
