Aweber HTML Email Editor. Bring it Back!

Aweber tech support writing me back asking me why I prefer the HTML WYSIWYG editor over the drag and drop editor is like a yarn company asking me why I prefer to knit the scarf instead of just buying one.

  • Why would I want to bake a pie when I can get a Little Debbie snack cake?
  • Why would I want to drive a stick shift car when there are automatic transmissions?
  • Why make a fire in the fireplace when I can just turn on the heat?
  • Why grow a garden when we have grocery stores?

I use the WYSIWYG editor for the same reason WordPress brought back the Classic Editor as a plugin.

TONS of users prefer to use this editor, and not clunky drag and drop!

An WYSIWYG editor is so basic that all the free email clients provide this to their users!

WHY did you take it away?

I wrote this post and published it on the internet because there is little value in talking with tech support on email.

The only company that I am impressed with tech support is my web host at Momwebs.

I can’t say enough about the true engagement that these folks provide.

I’m so happy that I get to talk with a person who actually looks into whatever my problem is at the moment, that I routinely send him a little tips which he then forwards to his wife for the family!

Aweber, I’ve been your customer for nearly 20 years.

I see that you are either using Bots to field email questions, or hiring support people who behave very similarly to bots.

That is, instead of actually looking up the problem to see what the user is talking about, they kick the conversation back to the user like a ping pong match.

“Can you please explain where you don’t see the send button”?

If you actually tested the platform you would know exactly what I was talking about.

Please don’t make me work for basic help.

“Why don’t I like the editor” is not a good customer service response.

I should not have to explain why drag and drop editors are not doing it for me, and for a large percentage of the email marketing population.

Bring back the Richtext Email Editor. You know what I’m talking about.
