Hi! I’m Dina Gio. Thanks for visiting the home of my copywriting services.
I’ve written sales copy and web content for clients and websites in just about every niche. I’ve been doing this as my career since 1996.
Here’s a little more about me, so we can get to know each other!
A Life-Long Love Affair with Copywriting
My affinity for writing copy goes way back: all the way to nine years old, when I’d sit with mail-order catalogs “editing” them at the kitchen table, for fun. (!!)
I officially fell in love with the craft after serving as a copy editor for our high school yearbook. Ours was a diverse student body; and in addition to the writing part, I made sure that every social group was well-represented in photos and captions that year.

(And probably the best compliment I’ve ever received.)
I’m a mom in my fifties now. Our son, who shares both his father’s and my fondness for books and words, just recently made his debut into the high school lifestyle. I’m excited for him to explore the possibilities and discover his niche as I did!

How Did I Become a Copywriter?
As mentioned, words were my wheelhouse from the start. So I asked a school advisor, “What is the technical career title for what I love to do?” I was told “Copywriter;” and if that was the career I wanted to pursue, I should be a Comm major in college.
So I took off running with that plan… and here we are, 35 years later. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Communication with an English Minor, from University of Scranton.

Copywriter – Pivotal Career Points
My first “real job” was marketing coordinator for an industrial company, which is where I sharpened my skills for the “real gig” one year later: an official copywriter role with Toys”R”Us, up in Paramus, NJ.

I wrote for Toys and their subsidiary stores — Babies”R”Us, Kids”R”Us, Imaginarium — for seven years. We worked on a creative team of incredibly kind, intelligent, warm and sensitive folks — writers, designers, marketing professionals. Yes — a Toys”R”Us Kid, I’ll forever be.
After I left that job, I floundered around a bit, trying my hand at temping for pharma agencies. I’m more of a natural healing and holistic gal, so this didn’t feel like a good fit for me.
Then, a friend introduced me to a life coach who encouraged me to hang a shingle and put my copywriting services online.
I’m rather stubborn, and resisted her suggestion. But I wasn’t having much luck finding good copywriting work that wasn’t a 1.5 hour commute from Warren County, NJ which is where I had relocated.
So I finally launched my copywriting site, taking weeks to suffer through the learning curve that was the 2003 Trellix Site Builder, and boldly stepped into the virtual business landscape that was Ryze Business Networking.
Wordfeeder Copywriting and Marketing was born!

The ecomomy was thriving; and the web was fresh, new, and filled with possibilities. I’d log onto Ryze every night and stay up until all hours, fielding questions from other online micro-business owners looking to get known in their niche.
I made a ton of great contacts from that, and got paid good money to help people launch websites, write their company newsletter, and such.
I worked my way up to a respectable freelance income — taking my cue from the great Bob Bly, whose book I read with avid interest, and whose business model I structured my services after.
Mom with an Online Copywriting Business
About halfway through that massive career plot twist, I did it again: took a 10-year hiatus from working online, to get married and learn the ropes on the most challenging job of all — being a mom to my sweet son.
He held endless fascination for books, from as young as five months old! That’s how I knew he was my boy! 😀
We had many fun times together in the early days– visiting the library, exploring art museums, trekking through the woods, making friends at the park, jumping at the play gym… and of course… learning how to read and write.

If you’re a new mom waffling on whether to go to work full-time while your kids are small, I highly recommend pursuing the independent business owner role if you’re that type of person. But I will also warn you that it takes a huge pay cut, and heaps of effort.
Web Copywriter in 2014: Social Media Throws Me for a Loop
When my son reached preschool age, I returned to the web to find that social media was all the rage — and my tired mom brain couldn’t grasp any of it.
But I knew if I wanted to continue on this path, I had to get comfortable with the many tech tools of online business, which took me decades of tinkering and making many mistakes to master.
A Copywriter with Web Skills
Because I’m persistent and driven, I did manage to add these to my skillset over time:
- Search engine optimization
- Website creation in Dreamweaver and WordPress
- List building and email newsletter management
- Content database management
- Ebook and digital template creation (Canva)
- Social media marketing
- Email automation
- Setting up digital products for sale

How Else Can Copywriters Earn Online?
When my son was small, it became clear to me that I wasn’t going to be able to serve clients with the level of detail they’d come to expect, and deserved. So I had to think of another means of making money online.
Other moms I knew sold content with private label rights. I had no idea how that worked — but figured I had nothing to lose.
Wordfeeder Copywriting became “Wordfeeder PLR“!

Everything I’ve done in my copywriting and content businesses has been a gamble!
But even having had to recover from many mistakes, I wouldn’t change a thing. I’ve learned so much.

Other ways I’ve generated income online, in addition to serving copywriting clients:
- Niche blogging
- Selling content (articles and ebooks) with private label rights
- Affiliate marketing
- Digital product sales
Today, Copywriters Find Their Careers in Trouble
With the adoption of Artificial Intelligence, we copywriters find ourselves in a heap of worry. I was born for this work, have done it for 3 decades, and don’t have much to pivot into now that robots are taking over the world.
Some writers have begun to embrace the AI workstyle, but I resist. It seems that whenever I use the tools I see defects, inaccuracy, and creative lack.
Even so: if you’re a copywriter who has broken through, I applaud you! Your guidance is needed in these trying times.
Pivoting is Key
I believe the key is to pivot these strong communication and tech skills we’ve all developed, into viable online businesses that speak to unique, sought-after niches. That means copywriters must step out from the background role.
In other words: to survive this shift, start working and creating niche content FOR YOURSELF.
I recently launched a site where I sell digital products like planners and journals, that I create in Canva.
